NPC News

Hornsey Pensioners Action Group is affiliated to the NPC. See www.npcuk.org

Sarah Harris attended the Annual Convention of the NPC at Blackpool last week and will tell us more.  See Campaign! which includes the agenda.

Our group is also affiliated to London Region NPC, that meets on July 6th.  Anyone can attend as a guest , but we have two delegates who can vote on the proposed new constitution.

On June 9th, Janet Shapiro sent a Committee Request for discussion at the London Executive meeting.  The officers refused to include this item on the agenda, and subsequently Janet has resigned from the Executive Committee.  We suspect that no explanation for her resignation has been made.   The  text of our request indicated that we saw no need for a new constitution – the old one served well and needed only one edit. Our suggestion was not discussed in January or March.

Affiliates should try to attend the London Region meeting on July 6th at which the new constitution will be discussed.  It will be held at the usual venue, St Pancras  Church Hall, Lancing Street, NW1 1NA. This is a turning off Eversholt St. adjacent to Euston Station. The meeting will commence at 11.00am.

Happy Birthday NHS!
